Metastatic prostate cancer after orchiectomy, radiotherapy and testosterone replacement in a patient with bilateral seminoma

The role of testosterone in the development of prostate cancer is presently unclear, while it is generally accepted that exposure to radiation places patients at an increased risk of secondary malignant neoplasms. We present the first case of metastatic prostate cancer in a patient who underwent uncontrolled long-term hormone replacement therapy after a bilateral orchiectomy and extended radiotherapy for metachronous seminoma.
